ABOUT PLA
PLA (Polylactic Acid) is the most widely used biodegradable aliphatic polyester that is derived from renewable resources. It can easily be processed in manufacturing facilities that already exist for the production of common petrochemical-based plastics. It is developed primarily for degradable packaging materials.
PROPERTY:
PLA has good mechanical properties, similar to those of PE, PP, and PET. It is water-resistant but unstable in the presence of halogenated hydrocarbons.
RECYCLING:
PLA is biodegradable and compostable. SPI Code of 7 is applicable for PLA.
SAFETY:
PLA products are good for cold products. PLA is freezer safe, but not microwave safe.
